BHC Justice Movie Screening

Date: January 20, 2019
Time: 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

BHC’s observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will feature a screening and discussion of the documentary, “Charm City,” at BHC on Sunday, January 20, 1-4:30 pm. BHC Justice, Beth Am Synagogue, Bolton Street Synagogue, and Kol HaLev Social Action Committees, Jews United for Justice, Baltimore Jewish Cultural Chavurah and others will sponsor the event.

“Charm City,” directed by renowned documentary producer Marilyn Ness (“Cameraperson,” “Trapped,” “E-Team”), was filmed over three tumultuous years, covering the lead-up to, and aftermath of, Freddie Gray’s death in police custody. It provides an intimate portrait of those surviving in, and fighting for, the vibrant city they call home. A talk-back following the screening will feature Alex Long, a SafeStreets violence interrupter featured in the film, and other Baltimore activists. Refreshments will be served. RSVP: Nicki Stratford, Coordinator of Engagement and Programming, 410-764-1587, ext. 246 or nstratford@baltimorehebrew.org.
