Recovery and Renewal:An Immigration Experience Series

Date: June 27, 2019
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us at the Jewish Museum of Maryland for a presentation on “Creating Our American Story.” We hear about immigrants, refugees, and asylees all over the media – but rarely do we get to hear directly from those coming to America to make a new home. Join us as we welcome Senai Abella Obang and Hari Maya Dhamala, two individuals who were forced to flee their homes, eventually settling here in Baltimore. They will share their stories of escaping their homeland and the challenges of building a new home in a foreign land.

The presentation will be followed by a facilitated discussion and light refreshments (dietary laws observed). A bus will be available from BHC to the Jewish Museum of Maryland and back. 48-hour advance registration required. BHC members use code BHC2019 when reserving your seats for free admission to both the program and bus. To reserve your seat for the program and bus go to the event calendar on jewishmuseummd.org.

This program is part of the Recovery & Renewal: The Immigration Experience series, presented in partnership with BHC. This series is made possible through the generosity of the Lois Rosenfield Caring Fund of BHC.
