MLK Weekend Movie Screening and Talkback Hosted By BHC Justice
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, BHC Justice is working again with other congregations and organizations in the Baltimore area to plan a movie screening and talkback. This year’s event will feature the film “Zero Weeks,” an award-winning documentary that explores the social and financial consequences of the U.S. being one of only two nations in the world without paid family leave.
In his “Promised Land” speech, Martin Luther King Jr. said, “We are called upon to help the discouraged beggars in life’s marketplace. But one day we must come to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.” This film, talkback and action, will invite us all to think about one particular way we can help with that restructuring, right here in Maryland. Sunday, January 19, 1-4:30 pm. This event is free. Babysitting available upon request. Light refreshments will be served.
Registration in advance strongly encouraged by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
