BHC continues to update our High Holy Day policies considering the evolving situation. These updated policies supersede what was mentioned in the ticket mailing. Please see below for crucial information. We appreciate your understanding as we look together in-person and online for the High Holy Days. Please remember that if you feel ill, you should take care and stay home.
 
Policies updated as of August 25, 2021
 
Sanctuary Services
  1. Preregistration is required for all High Holy Day Sanctuary services. Please register Here, or call BHC. (Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars requires separate registration. See below.)
  2. Proof of vaccination required for BHC Sanctuary services and must be shown upon entering the building. Vaccination encouraged for all other BHC services. We recommend that you take a photo of your proof of vaccination card. We understand this rule means that children 11 and under cannot attend Sanctuary High Holy Day Services this year.
  3. There is a 50% limit on normal Sanctuary attendance.
  4. All attendees must wear a mask correctly and physical distance.
  5. All Sanctuary services will be streamed, via Live Control
 
Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars
  1. Vaccination: BHC strongly encourages those who are eligible to be vaccinated to do so and for those who are not vaccinated to celebrate Rosh Hashanah at home this year.
  2. Masking: Please keep everyone safe by wearing masks except within your household’s defined seating area. Please be particularly mindful to wear your mask in these “high traffic” areas including the: Entrance, Playground, Hill, Restrooms. Please also wear a mask when singing.
  3. Plan to physically distance your household from others
  4. Preregistration is required at givebutter.com/rhus21
 
Tent Family and PJ Services       
  1. Vaccination is strongly recommended for those eligible.
  2. Preregistration is required. Please register Here, or call BHC.
  3. Masks worn properly are recommended.
  4. Distancing will be possible.

 

 

High Holy Day tickets will be mailed in advance to members of BHC in good financial standing; the envelopes will be marked “High Holy Day Tickets Enclosed.”

*Your ticket will admit you to all services; however, registration is also necessary for Rosh Hashanah Under the Stars.

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation and Har Sinai-Oheb Shalom Congregation join together to prepare for the High Holy Days with a concert and a service. The concert is underwritten by the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust.  Both will be held in the BHC Sanctuary and streamed on via LiveControl

Prayerbooks

For those attending in person, Mishkan HaNefesh prayerbooks will be available. For those streaming from home, BHC is loaning out prayerbooks again this year.  BHC members can borrow a prayerbook by driving through on Tuesday, August 24, 5-7 pm and Sunday, August 29, 10 am to noon, or from the receptionist during normal business hours or Shabbat services. 


The office has a very limited number of prayerbooks available for sale, if you would like to have your own copy. The cost is $50 for the two-volume set.

Streaming

Services in the Sanctuary will be streamed via LiveControl

Streaming for Shabbat and High Holy Day Sanctuary services is available by visiting
bhc.livecontrol.tv.  No registration is necessary and this service is completely free. We do our best to stream all of our services, however we hope you will be patient with any unforeseen technical challenges.     

 

BHC is not offering childcare during the 2021 High Holy Days.
